Hanna Says..........

March 5 2011- Hanna read her first page in a book! She was so excited and proud!

Hanna - "Mommy, I know what I want to be when I grow up."
Me - "You do.....and what is that?"
Hanna - "I wanna be a post office."
Me - "Well, a post office is a place. Do you want to work inside the post office?"
Hanna - "Yes, I will be a post office geel."

Hanna: Mommy, I don't want to grow up.
Me: Why?
Hanna: Because I am so cute now and if I grow up I won't be cute anymore.

Lightmen- lightning

Hanna asks all the time what she can and can't say. Her new favorite word is "shucks." Whenever I tell her I love her or say that she is pretty, she will say, "Awwwwwwe shucks."

We tell Hanna all the time how smart she is and how great her memory is. So, today in the car, she was reliving and sharing a memory from last year sometime. I commented that I had forgotten that I did that. Her response was, "Mommy, my brain is gooder than yours. Your brain isn't the best like mine is." Sadly, I agreed. 4/12/10

Hanna: I wish I was a super hero.
Me: What all do you need to be a super hero?
Hanna: You need a skateboard, a cape, glasses, and a flashlight. Then you can fly and hunt for things.

Hanna: Mommy, there is something wrong with the tv. Look.
Me: What is wrong? I don't see anything.
Hanna: Yes, look. It's "mommy tv". I don't like it. (she happened to be watching live tv later than usual one night and there were commercials for cleaning products)

Hanna likes to spin around and around and will say, "Mommy, I'm gettin' busy!"

Geel- she can't say her rrrrr's yet, so this is what she says for girl; I absolutely love it.
Bathin' soup (she loves modeling her new bathing suits and wants to wear them for just 5 more minutes)

Me: "Hanna, would you like some honey mustard for your chicken fingers?"
Hanna: "No, I just want some checkup to it."

Haley says.......


15 Months

  • Nummy, nummy (she loves to bring me food from Hanna's kitchen and she likes me to pretend eat it, so when I do I say, "Num num num." Now when she is about to eat she will say this. It is soooooo cute)

  • Wok (walk) She loves to go on walks

  • knows where her nose, ears, hair, belly button, and sometimes mouth is when asked
  • says "moo" when she sees a cow
  • says "hee haw" when she wants to ride on my back
  • loves water
  • when asked ANY question she answers, "no"
  • loves to try and eat with a fork
Aug09
  • saying "tant-tu" for thank you
  • puppy - sounds more like "baw- pee"
  • she gets frustrated when she is finished and wants out of her highchair; she is trying with, "Awwe duh" (all done) or "Dowe pee" (down please)
  • she says "hi" to everyone she sees and "hello" when pretending to talk on the phone
  • her favorite thing lately is when she has a stinky in her pants, she'll dig her hand towards her rear and say, "Sheeee-ewe" over and over. When I join her in saying, "Shee-ewe", she just laughs and laughs.
  • she mimics Hanna all the time; Hanna was playing like a wounded animal and lying under the table for Diego (Jason) to come rescue and Haley started lying under the table and waiting for Daddy to come pick her up. She didn't have a clue as to what was really going on, she just wanted to be included.
  • says "Mom-mie" and "Dad-die" very clearly now
  • knows the color "lellow" (yellow)
  • knows most all of her body parts (nose, mouth, tongue, hair, toes, ears, eyes)
  • says "coke-a" for most anything pertaining to crackers, cookies, snacks, etc.
  • when Hanna gets a popsicle, Haley gets excited and starts saying, " Pop-see!"
18 Months

  • loves shoes, especially others
  • says "shoe '
  • apple
  • the other night she said, "where's my water?"
19 Months
  • cup

  • mou (her favorite stuffed mouse)
  • loves to spin in circles, usually to music but not always
  • says "no" for nose
  • loves playing with her baby dolls and calls them "bee-bee"
20 Months
  • by now I can't keep up with everything that Haley is saying; she repeats everything she hears
  • she loves pumpkins and calls them "punkies"
  • when she is hungry she cries for her "ninner"
22 Months
  • she calls hair bows, "hair boats"
  • she is a little canary, repeating everything she hears especially if Hanna said it
  • "mere"- come here
  • "mon"- come on
  • she is trying her best to sing songs
  • she pretends to read books using her own language of jibberish
  • she loves to play in Hanna's kitchen and will bring you food saying, "Dinner's ready."
  • "hmmm" or "huh" means yes
24 Months
  • when asked a question, she usually responds w/ "Sure"

  • when told no, she says, "YES...I...DUE!"
  • "fishstick"- chapstick
  • loves to sing her ABC's & Twinkle Little Star
  • "ice-clean"- icecream
  • can sing Jesus Loves Me
26 months
  • Is very independent and won't let you help her do anything. She will say, "No! My turn."
  • She asks all the time, "Mommy, what's that smell." When we walked out of MDO today she asked me that question (it was the lovely smell of chicken manure). Then she said, "It smells like poopy."
  • When she is trying like the dickens to do something and she finally gets it she will say, "There my go!"
  • Loves to sing Jesus Loves Me and Rock-a-bye Baby
  • Knows all her colors and shapes (actually has known her colors for along time)
  • Counts to 10 all the time and is starting to count to 15
  • Loves to get her jammies on and run to Daddy & Hanna and say, "Somprise!!!"
  • She sees a man in a white robe and she immediately says it is Jesus
  • She loves her "Jesus Bible" and wants to "read" it all the time
  • Josepheph or Jophes is how she says Joseph
  • "bold"- bowl

28 months
  • flamingo juice- orange juice w/ mango
  • when asked what she wants to be when she grows up......."a pig"!

31 months
  • loves to say "ding-dong, knock-knock" and I am supposed to say "who's there?"
  • wants to be called Zach ALL THE TIME! She loves my friend Christy's little boy and wants to be him. Cute but annoying.
  • Is that them car?
  • Pretends she is talking to a witch on the phone all the time and tells me that witches eat mommies.
  • Favorite song is "Lollipop"
36 months

  • wants to watch Cinderella ALL THE TIME
  • dresses up like a princess as soon as she walks in the door
  • LOVES lip gloss, obsessed
  • makes up silly names and wants to be called that
  • she says all the time that when she talks she sounds like a boy
  • likes to be called Sally or Penelope
  • wants every princess dress and the purse, gloves, shoes, jewelry to match
  • asks for "Jazz-man" dress (Jasmine)
  • loves to pretend that she is reading a story
