Our future veterinarian

Hanna being a kangaroo.  You can see her baby kanga in her "pouch".
She came downstairs the other day dressed like this and said she was a horse.  She clomped around for quite some time on all fours.  You just never know what animal she is going to be; could be a leopard, jaguar, bunny, snake, giraffe, tiger, etc.  You name it and she has been it at some point.  She gets very frustrated when you talk to her and call her by name instead of her animal name.  She LOVES animals and has about every farm or jungle animal you could imagine.

I have asked her a handful of times what she wants to be when she grows up and she has very consistently answered, "A doctor."  We figure with her love of animals that she might prefer to be an animal doctor OR the next Steve Irwin.   She does call herself "the jungle girl" sometimes.

Mommy's little helper

When Haley heard me vacuuming the bathroom the other day she dragged her vacuum down the stairs to come help me.  She was very proud of herself.

A little Q & A with H & H

I thought it would be fun to ask Hanna and Haley what some of their favorite things are so we can look back several years from now and have a good laugh.  Unless I asked Haley the question first, she would most always repeat the same thing or a version of what Hanna said.  They were so cute!!  Hanna started asking me and Jason questions........it was fun to see what she thought we would say.

Bedtime funnies

When I put Haley to bed tonight we followed our usual bedtime rituals by reading several books, she turned on her nightlight, she turned on her music and then requested the "Papa" song.  So I sang it while standing, with her head on my shoulder.......she then asked me to sing "Mimi" song.  So I sang the same song using "Mimi" in place of Papa thinking she would be ready for bed but she then asked me to sing "Amber" song (Anthony & Hillary's puppy).   I refused to sing a song about a dog and said no.  She didn't give up so easily and asked me to sing "Joni" (my Mom's dog).  Sorry, I draw the line there.  What can I say, she does love the puppies in her life!!!

Little bookworms

They love to go in one of their bedrooms and read books to each other.  I love to hear Hanna reading and teaching Haley the story.
I don't know why or how but Hanna is looking at a book of baby names.  She must have pulled it from Haley's armoire.
They will sit in Hanna's bed for long periods of time reading.  I love it but what a mess to clean up afterwards!

A snow day!

We woke up to about 2 1/2 inches of snow this morning!  I looooooooove snow!  The only thing I dislike about snow is that it melts way too fast.  It's supposed to be pretty cold this week so maybe we'll get to enjoy it for a few days.  The girls had so much fun playing in it; Hanna more so than Haley.  Haley seemed afraid to move around and kept saying, "Hold me."  It was a little challenging for her to move her legs with her boots and snow bib.

This was their first time making snowmen.  The snow wasn't the good packing kind so Jason found a long tubular trash can in the basement; hence the cylindrical shaped snow people.  We named them Charlie and Lola and little Charlie Jr.  We finally got to put our snowman kit to good use!  Thanks Chris!

We are warm and snuggly in our jammies now!  I guess it's time for a hot toddy!
