Fashion or faux pas

Lately, Hanna has been waking up and getting herself dressed before coming down.  Her shirts are hanging low enough in her closet that she can reach them but her bottoms hang up high.  So, she goes to the drawer that holds her leggings and tights and pairs that with a blouse of her choice.  I think it is great that she is independent and can dress herself and I'm always anxious to see what ensemble she puts together.

Tuesday morning we went to a "pretend sleep over" themed birthday party and she got to wear her pj's and bring a sleeping bag and her blanket.  When we got home she just stayed in her nightgown for awhile.  Later in the day I was downstairs cleaning the kitchen and when I came up to see what she was doing, she had this on.  It just made my day.  It was the most hysterical thing I'd ever seen.  Fall tights with a summer t-shirt.  Maybe that's the new look for fall.

Where is pointer?

Hanna sang this song for Jason the other night and he'd never heard it!  She says "pointer" instead of thumbkin.   Obviously, you won't find it as endearing as we do but you have to admit it's kinda cute.

We had some family pictures taken a few weekends ago.  I think they turned out great!  If you are bored and want to check them out go here.  Password is haley.

Crazy bag lady

This girl is crazy about her purses.  At any given time of the day she will have 4-5 dangling from her arm.  More if she had access.  We don't dare try to snag one, else she starts screaming and stomping her feet.  If Hanna wants one and tries to substitute it for another, Haley gets ticked and throws said purse as far away as she can.  It is just hilarious and kind of scary how attached she is to her (Hanna's) purses.  I'm afraid she hasn't acquired any of her own yet.  Even as we are loading up into the car she has to drag them along.

Sadly, at the end of the day, their final resting spot is in the floor at the bottom of the stairs.  We go up to play after dinner and it is way too hard to climb up the steps with purses in tow so she discards them and forgets about them until the next day.

Summer Saturday evening-Hanna

We went up to the clubhouse for dinner Saturday evening and met up with our friends Tam and Steven.  When we got home we let the girls play outside for awhile so we could sit and have an after-dinner drink(s).  They love to play outside and I am always amazed at what they can find to entertain themselves with.  Sure, we have a few outside toys but they usually prefer rocks, dirt, grass, flowers, etc.

This particular evening they took a fancy to my flowers.  After Haley went to bed, Hanna entertained us with "hippy-hopscotch" and chalk drawings.  I love to let them get good and dirty sometimes.  What's the fun in being a kid if you don't get dirt under your nails and chalk in your mouth every now and then!?!

Hello, my name is Trouble

While I was preparing dinner this afternoon and completely unaware, Haley busied herself with the task of unloading the wipes container on the steps.  I must say, it kept her preoccupied for some time.  I could hear her working frantically but was too, well.... preoccupied myself to go check into the matter.   She was beaming with pride when I did make it over to see what she'd been up to.  What a cute little stinker!

"But Mommy, honest to goodness it really was THIS big."
