Surprise!

Jason and I flew to Spartanburg, SC for his sister Lisa's 40th birthday party. It was at the Marriott in downtown Spartanburg. Cliff started planning the surprise party a year ago and kept it from her for that long! She was definitely surprised to see a whole room full of family and friends when she thought it would just be the two of them for dinner. After the tears and greeting everybody Cliff started the string of speeches. There were some funny ones and some sad but it was fun to hear about stories from Lisa's past and childhood. We enjoyed visiting with family and getting to see our nieces and nephews. After the party we went up to the presidential suite and partied some more with Cliff and Lisa's friends, Jason's Mom and her husband Richard, and Mark and Cathy. It was a quick trip but we wouldn't have missed Lisa's big surprise for nothing!
